Terms of use
Last updated Oct 29, 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account, signing in, or using Cheri, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms are a binding agreement between you and the operator of this Cheri deployment.
2. Who can use Cheri
Cheri is for adults 18+ only. By using Cheri you confirm you are at least 18, that your profile is about you, and that you will treat other members respectfully.
3. Your account
You are responsible for activity on your account. Keep login details private. You may delete your account anytime in Settings. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or local law, with or without notice.
4. Community rules
Do not:
- Harass, threaten, scam, or defraud other members
- Share illegal, non-consensual, or underage content
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent verification
- Spam, scrape, or abuse live rooms, messaging, or the map
- Display firearms, weapons, or other dangerous objects on live video
Report issues from chat, live, or Settings. Reporting may also block the other person. We do not guarantee that every report will result in action you prefer.
5. Features & third parties
Matching, messaging, map availability, live rooms, private albums, and venue suggestions are provided as-is. Live video quality depends on your network. Map pins for other people are approximate by design. Venue and nightlife spots may include Sponsored / Featured placements. We are not responsible for partner venues, events, or third-party services (payments, SMS, TURN, etc.).
6. Meetings, live & personal safety
Cheri helps people connect online. Any decision to message, go live, meet in person, visit a venue, or share personal information is yours alone. You assume all risk related to interactions with other members or anyone you meet through the app. Verify people carefully; we do not conduct criminal background checks on every user and verification does not guarantee safety, identity accuracy, or good intent.
Live rooms are monitored for serious safety violations. Showing guns, firearms, or weapons on live is forbidden. Operators may end a live room immediately and may suspend accounts.
6A. Platform operators
Certain accounts are platform operators (admins), not dating members. Operators exist to control the product: review reports and selfie verification, approve venue ads, audit private albums for safety/compliance, end unsafe live rooms, and view aggregate subscriber and revenue estimates. Operator accounts are not for matching or dating other members.
7. Subscriptions
Paid plans renew until canceled in Settings (or via Stripe when configured). Demo checkout does not charge a real card. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by law.
8. No warranties
Cheri is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted access, or that matches, profiles, locations, live rooms, or verification will be accurate, safe, or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cheri and its operators, hosts, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or personal injury arising from your use of the app, other members’ conduct, meetings arranged through Cheri, venue visits, live sessions, or inability to use the service — whether based on contract, tort, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Cheri will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Cheri in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits; in those places, our liability is limited to the maximum permitted by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold harmless Cheri and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of Cheri, your meetings or communications with others, or your breach of these Terms.
11. Disputes
Before filing a claim, contact the deployment operator and try to resolve the issue informally. Where permitted by law, you and Cheri agree that disputes will be resolved individually — not as a class, consolidated, or representative action — and that courts in the operator’s principal place of business have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protections say otherwise.
12. Demo notice
Parts of this build are for demonstration. Production deployments need their own legal review, hosting, and compliance setup. These Terms do not replace advice from a qualified attorney for your jurisdiction.
